After an excruciatingly long time without any camera other then the very lame one on my LG phone, I finally have a new baby! After a lot research, knowing that I did not really want to go back to a DSLR system and having long been infatuated with the Olympus 4/3 system, I went ahead and got the Panasonic GX85 (GX80) with the kit lens. It came bundled with the lens, otherwise I would have gotten a prime, but I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised with this little lens and with this camera, I was a tiny bit skeptical, I had my doubts that it could compare to my higher end Nikons and while in many ways it does not, in the ways that it counts, it does. The quality is satisfactory for everyday shooting and with a good lens I am confident I could even take wall worthy prints. Over all very happy.
I interrupt this blog to say; I miss my Nikon 35mm!! Why in heavens name did I sell it?!
I truly love and adore my Nikkor 50 1.4, fantastic lens. But shooting squirrely chicklets indoors is tricky and sometimes downright difficult with the nifty 50.
So, if you know you are going to be shooting indoors quite a bit and want to really open up your shooting options, pick up the Nikon 35mm. So worth it.
But keep the 50, just because it is awesome.
